Over the course of the history of photography, new terms were used as photography broke new technological grounds. Making photographic prints recalled the darkroom discipline. Equipment of the digital age brought unprecedented photographic interpretations, allowing a rolling wave of possibilities.
To “mint” is to produce for the first time; its parallel meaning is an act of entering into circulation of a ‘coin’. In a strange art-vs-money fusion, these two meanings converge to imply “to produce a piece of work and enter it into the circulation via the blockchain”. “Minting” has become a new art vocabulary.
“Mint” is an exhibition of the works by “photographers who mint”. Photographers who defy conventions by allowing their works to enter the market circulation as NFTs. Photographers who are not afraid to confront the market value. Minting gives the artist that decision power: to print or to mint.
Record prices paid in photography occurred when they are recognized as contemporary art. The show paints how photography has evolved in contemporary art context; how ideas, tools, and technical innovations have changed the way photography is perceived.
Just as NFTs bring unprecedented valuation to the field, such circumstances open ways for a new audience to reach and appreciate photography. Photography is no longer shy to contemporary art and its currency.
About the Artist
Akkara Naktamna (B.1979 in Bangkok, Thailand)
Began shooting as a self-taught photographer around 2008 influenced by Elliott Erwitt's book and comedy movie called Pecker. In 2012, he co-founded Street Photo Thailand. Akkara was selected as finalists of street photography competitions and photo festivals such as Miami Street Photography Festival 2013, Singapore Photo Festival 2016, Photo Bangkok Festival 2015 and 2018. "Signs", his zine was made in 2016 after his solo exhibition, it was collected by Franklin Furnace Archive and MoMA Library as part of the Anamorphosis Prize. Akkara created an e-magazine called CTypeMag to promote interesting contemporary photographic works around the globe. In 2021 he started CTypeMag as a photo gallery in Bangkok.

Chakrit Leelachupong
Earned a bachelor's degree in business administration but was fascinated in photography, he changed his life to be a professional photographer. His works have been exhibited in Thailand , Japan, Australia and collected by Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts, Japan.

Kun Piyanush
Photographer and Artist based in Bangkok, Thailand. Most of his work aspect will be in the concept about Cyberpunk with Cinematic Storytelling. He's always passionate in the beauty of Human and enjoyed the silenced of wandering, observing life moment happens before his eyes in the same time that he create the story that will fit with the imagination in his own world.

Kanrapee Chokpaiboon
Born and raised in Chiang Mai, Thailand. His work is mainly inspired by his love for sci-fi films, extraterrestrial beings and spirituality. He journeyed to New York in 2015, there, Kanrapee got the opportunity to learn and work for various renowned photographers that influenced him, widen his perspectives and finally discovered what photography is to him. His style is defined by dramatized reality, creating the feel of surrealism, quirkiness, and dark humor, forming an alternate reality he sees through his eyes.
He is a co-founder of Arc Tribe, a digital magazine and Arc Press, an independent publisher.

Nattachat Wachirawarakarn
A fascination with the beauty of places at different moments in time became the starting point of my journey into photography. One of the great joys in my life is photographing landscapes and architecture. What began simply as a hobby has gradually evolved into a profession, because every press of the shutter continues to bring both excitement and challenge.

Nattawat Tangthanakitroj
Multimedia artist specializing in fine art, landscape, and street photography. He got inspired by the first memory of his father showing him how to draw, which led him to the extended life mission of becoming an artist and creator.

Natthaphon Chaiworawat
Multidiscipline artist, art practitioner and researcher. Graduated from Academy of Fine Art Munich as Meisterschüler. Living and working currently as a fine art instructor at faculty of architecture department of fine art King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Bangkok Thailand.

Watcharapat Kongkhaow (B. 1992 in Chon Buri, Thailand)
Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Department of Visual Arts, at Bangkok University in 2014. Their artistic practice is rooted in everyday life and surrounding environments, often raising questions about the status of art and the role of art spaces. They began working at Gallery VER in 2016, and later joined Cartel Artspace in 2018.

William is an International award winning DOP - In both Still & Motion Imagery Creation. Key work in Architectural/Commercial/Haute Couture/Lifestyle/Hospitality and Conceptual Art, now based in Bangkok, Thailand, he has exhibited globally at galleries and exhibitions including OXO London, Xposure UAE, Macau, Hong Kong, and Dubai, William has won many accolade and awards including Dezeen awards , MPA, PPAC The Prestigious Photography Award from His Royal Highness Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi. He is an Ambassador for ARRI Lighting and is Currently working on several Commercial projects for, Apple, world famous Hotel Architects Bensley, a UNESCO Arts Scholarship Foundation Project . His work has been used in commercial campaigns, premier brands and published in both books and magazines. William is proactive in promoting both gender and ethnic equality, sustainable and fair trade for all.
