It’s So Bright and Confusing

Light, a form of energy wave that can take humans on a journey through the realm of time and space. Humans have always attempted to create these sources of energy, try to control it and use light to influence feelings in a wide variety of ways.
The artist has been working with light using a camera as a medium, utilising flash as a primary light source experimenting to create new space and a more expansive dimension in his photography.
This photographic body of work is therefore an experimental work in progress of thoughts and the comprehensions of the artist’s unique understanding of light. It aims to create new perspectives without boundaries in photography.
About the Artist
Tawanwad Wanavit (B.1991 in Chiang Mai, Thailand)
Tawanwad Wanavit (Tang) works as a professional cinematographer in Thailand. He has a strong passion for street photography, which gained him many awards he received in prestigious photography competitions such as Miami Street Photography Festival, StreetFoto San Francisco, and London Street Photography Contest.
Most of his works use the strong flash technique. It became his signature style and led him to join an international street photographers collective 'Full Frontal Flash’.
Apart from street photography, Tawanwad has been experimenting with other fields of photography like conceptual photography. Tawanwad main focus now is on street photography works but he is also keen on experimenting in other areas of photography.
About the Curator
Sirima Chaipreechawit (B.1988)
A Bangkok-born Creative Director and Curator, Sirima Chaipreechavit (b.1988) immersed her life in art because she has a clear goal of using the power of art to push society forward.
As someone who is passionate in black and white photography, Sirima started out as a member of Street Photography Thailand and her works have been exhibited both locally and abroad. She is certainly no stranger to the Thai art scene as she later became a creative manager, gallery director and editor for The Jam Factory.
Currently she is a co-founder of GroundControl, a media and art agency which presents art movements and supports the art creation of Thai artists, and HOP - Hub Of Photography, a photographic gallery and art space. Furthermore, she is also an exhibition organiser and independent curator with a multitude of exhibitions under her name.
